Hugh Barrentine

Hugh Earlene Barrentine, 84, died Monday, May 4, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Barrentine was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army, was retired from both DuPont and as a farmer. He was a member of Free Hill Baptist Church and a Mason. Survivors include wife of 63 years, Ruth Gentry Barrentine; daughters, Sharlett (JD) Gann, Joy (Stan) Skaggs; sons, Ben (Kim) Barrentine, Wesley (Donna) Barrentine, Mark (Debra) Barrentine; grandchildren, Daniel (Maranda) Barrentine, Matthew (Patricia) Gann, Beth (Ben) Casey, Gentry (Jennifer) Gann, Alison (Brett) Gilbert, Adam (Taylor) Barrentine, Sarah Skaggs; great-grandchildren, Jake and Cassie Barrentine, Destiny, Will, Corbin and Owen Gann, Evan and Ellasyn Gilbert, Isaac, Logan and Caleb Casey; sisters, Dorothy Kennedy, Lorene Benefield, Montrey Shultz, Janice Thurmond, Bennie Mae Gant and Martha Poole. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben F. and Annie Shrader Barrentine, brothers, J. L., Carlton, D. F. and Bob Barrentine. Funeral services are today at 11 a.m. CDT at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Elder Ricky Harcrow and Elder Ben Barrentine officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope cemetery.
