Cynthia Powell

Cynthia Yvonne Brown Powell, 59, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015. She was a member of the Jasper Church of Christ, taught Adult Education in Chattanooga and Head Start in South Pittsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, George V. and Jimmie McCann Brown; a sister, Sherry Ann Duke; and husbands, Ricky Ross and Gary Powell. Cynthia is survived by her son, Damien Lee (Kimberly) Powell; daughter, Jadra Christine (Adam) Tankersley; sisters, Gwen (George) Meeks and Bonnie (Robert Stock) Arcadi; brothers, Johnny Edwin (Brenda) Brown and Ronnie (Treva) Brown; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. CDT today, May 22, 2015, with Minister Bruce Leonard officiating.
