Herba Dean

Herba Nell Kitts Dean, 90, passed away bpeacefully at her home with her family by her side on May 22, 2015. Herba was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Glenn M. Dean Jr., and her parents, Herb and Mossie Kitts of Knoxville. Herba enjoyed life. She had a deep faith in God which she shared with her family and by which she lived her life. Her activities centered around her family, friends, and former church, Northside Baptist. She is survived by her immediate family of four children, Glenn M. Dean, III (Teresa), Robert K. Dean, Rachel D. Bryant (Dean), and David M. Dean (Ann); her four grandchildren, Jeffrey P. Dean, Christopher D. Bryant, McAffee C. Dean, A. Samuel Dean; and great-grandchild, Robert G. Dean. Also survived by her sister, Martha K. Walker (Deedle) of Knoxville, and her sister-in-law, Helen D. Hartman. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Please join us in honoring this fine lady, our mother, with a celebration of her life to be held at Hamilton Funeral Home, Hixson Pike, on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at 11 am. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:30 -11 a.m. on Tuesday. If you are unable to attend, we will always welcome sharing stories with you whenever our paths may cross.
