Lynda Smotherman

Lynda Jane Smotherman, 73, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 3, 2015, in Murfreesboro. Ms. Smotherman was born in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Joseph Skurlock and Mildred Tomlin. She retired from Eagleville Drug Store in Eagleville, Tenn., where she worked as a Pharmacy Technician. Ms. Smotherman was a member of the Eagleville United Methodist Church. Ms. Smotherman is survived by two sons, William Steagall, Bell Buckle, Tenn.; Dr. Jeffrey D. Smotherman, Washington D.C.; two grandchildren, Keondra Leon and Charles Steagall; cousins, Jim Speakman, Rev. Eddie Smotherman. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Smotherman and Rev. Jack Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Glade Cemetery near Eagleville. Kent Brisby, Sonny Lonas, Jim Speakman, Wayne Carpenter, Trevon Leon and Embree Blackwell, Jr. will serve as active pallbearers.
