Leland Haynes

Leland Franklin Haynes, 72, of Chattanooga, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015. He was born in Tracy City, Tenn., to the late Howard and Vesta Lockhart Haynes. He has resided most of his life in the Chattanooga area. He was a former volunteer firemen with East Ridge Fire Department. He retired from Combustion Engineering where he was an inspector. He was a gifted singer that sang baritone with The Haynes Brothers for fifteen years. He was the former choir director at Welcome Valley Baptist Church in Chattanooga. He had been attending Calvary Memorial Baptist Church in Ringgold, Ga. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest Joel Haynes; and niece, Ellen Marie Haynes; great-niece, Andrea Kimbrel. He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Barnett, of East Ridge, Tenn.; sister, Marie (Rev. David) Winton, of Chattanooga; brother, Dr. David H. (Rhonda) Haynes Sr., of Evensville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Ryan, Emily and Sara Kate Leatherwood; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 49 p.m. and Wednesday morning after 11 a.m. prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, in the chapel with Pastor Eric Greeson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Chattanooga. Arrangements by W.L.
