Darlene Thrasher

Darlene Hendricks Thrasher, 56, of Ooltewah, and formerly of Valdosta died on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, following a sudden illness at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. She was born on Oct. 3, 1959, in Jacksonville, Fla., to the late Willie C. and Hazel Barber Hendricks. Darlene was employed in the early 80s with South Georgia Medical Center where she served as a nurses aide and ran a private day care service. She was a member of Ware Branch Church of Christ in Birchwood, Tenn. Darlene was a loving and caring person and loved to talk on the phone. It is said that this was her favorite thing to do because it kept her in touch with numerous friends and loved-ones that she cared for so much. Survivors include a special aunt, Eunie Hendricks, of Valdosta; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pattie and Joe Saylor, of Glen St. Mary, Fla., and Gayle and Damon Hodges, of Jacksonville, Fla.,; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Dorothy Hendricks, of Ooltewah, Bret and Lynette Hendricks, of Lake Park, Ga., Eric and Linda Hendricks, of Valdosta, and Chet and Anastasia Hendricks, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; nieces and nephews and their spouses, Brandy and Jason Price, of Chattanooga, Stephanie Hendricks and Travis Hartman, also of Chattanooga, Michelle and Santi Iturralde, of Valdosta, Erica and Mike Blalock, of Valdosta, Justin Hendricks of Valdosta; a special care-giver, Cindy Wofford, of Chattanooga. She was preceded in death by a special uncle, Lassie Hendricks; and her parents, Willie and Hazel Hendricks. Services for Darlene Hendricks Thrasher will be held on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Bruce Barwick officiating. The burial will follow in Redland Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
