Jerrome Goin

Donzie Jerrome "Sonny" Goin, 73, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015. Jerrome was born and raised in Amory, Miss., where he was a stellar basketball and track athlete for Amory High School. He had a life-long passion for golf, fishing, and gardening. He was also very active with the Associated General Contractors of East Tennessee throughout his career in the construction industry. Jerrome retired from Vega Corporation after many wonderful years of service. His parents, Robert Donzie and Willie Mae Goin, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Pat" Goin; daughter, Jamie (Bob) Moates, of Ringgold; sons, Alan (Lee Ann) Goin, of Sugar Hill, Ga., Greg (April) Goin, of Ringgold; granddaughter, Ashley Goin-Page, of Chelsea, Ala.; grandson, Joshua Goin, of Sugar Hill, Ga.; sister, Faye (Naum) Myatt, of Becker, Miss.; sisters-in-law, Jean (Robert) Layton, of Rockwood, Tenn., Tanya (Bob) Tanski, of Peachtree City, Ga.; brother-in-law, Jim (Wilma) Bethune, of East Ridge; other family members, Lynette Goin, Karen Vernon; four nephews; and a host of many other friends and relatives. Dwight Wilson officiating and music by Crystal Gibson. The family would like to express thanks to Amedisys Hospice for all the grace and care given to Jerrome and them during his illness. Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
