Betty Pair

Betty Jane Pair, 80, passed away on Oct. 4, 2015. She was born on May 11, 1935, to the late Joseph E. Harding and Etta Lee Harding. She was a lifelong member of Oakwood Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a Sunday School teacher for 26 years. Bettys greatest loves were her church, family and sports. Betty was captain of the girls basketball team at Tyner High School. She spent many years enjoying comaradie with other sports moms as she attended her sons baseball games and Billys church softball and basketball games. She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Jewell Lee, Dixie Henley and Barbara Meherg. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Billy Joe Pair; sons, Joey (Diana) Pair and Jeff (Cheryl) Pair; grandchildren, Jeffery, Joseph, Bryan and Jason Pair; great-grandchildren, Beren, Isa and Elly Pair; many beloved extended family members. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 5-8 p.m. at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home, or you may visit the online guestbook at www.turnerfamilyfuneralhome.com. Funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ken Clark officiating.
