Rick Guinn

Rick Guinn, 65, went to be with his Savior, Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015. He was born in Chattanooga on Jan. 15, 1950 to the late Veldon and Isabel Guinn. He grew up in St. Elmo with his Three Sisters Nancy (Ron) Isham, of Crawfordville, Fla., Jo Ann (George) Smith, of Ringgold, Ga., Brenda Guinn of Franklin, Tenn.; and his brother, Kenneth (Martha) Monds, of Chattanooga. Rick attended Lookout JR. High School, City High School, and University of Chattanooga. Out of College he was a sales manager for the local textile company Standard Coosa Thatcher and then for Coats and Clark in Tupelo, Miss. During the past few years he found a home of brothers and sisters in Christ at The Anglican Church of the Redeemer. There he found a place where he could really experience love and community in the body of Christ. Anytime a member was in need and Rick was aware of it he would personally help or organize the help. He had one son whom he said made him who he was, Shadrick (Melissa) Guinn, of Chattanooga. Rick also dearly loved his 8 year old grandson, Jacob David Guinn and his 6 year old granddaughter, Emily Kate Guinn. He had 6 nieces and 4 nephews that he also loved to spend time with when they were young. His many friends and family said that he was one of the most loving people that they knew. Funeral services will be held noon Wednesday, Oct. 7, at The Anglican Church of the Redeemer, 104 McBrien Road, Chattanooga, with Father Brice Ullman officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m.-noon.
