SGM Terry Gunter

Retired Terry Lee Gunter, 76, passed away on Monday Oct. 5, 2015. He had lived in the Chattanooga area for the past 20 years and was a member at Woodland Park Baptist Church. Terry taught ROTC at West Rowan, Ooltewah and East Burke High Schools and stayed active with his students. He served as a Green Beret in the U.S. Army, serving two tours in Vietnam, a tour to Germany, and was stationed at Fort Bragg. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Blease and Thelma Gunter. Survivors include his loving wife, Judy Hager Gunter; their daughter, Teresa Vise and husband William Vise; son, Randy Gunter and wife Patricia Wakeen; brothers, Wayne Gunter and Blease Wilson Gunter Jr.; grandchildren, Haley Vise and Katherine Gunter; and friends, Chris Smith and Dorothy Marsil.
