Dawn Shavers

Dawn Rachel Goff Shavers, 43, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015. She was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and was a member of Peavine Baptist Church. Dawn was a graduate of Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School class of 1990 and was employed by Engineered Floors. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister who will be greatly missed. Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Harold Wayne Goff; and sister, Stephanie Goff. She is survived by her loving husband and friend, of 28 years, Steve Shavers; daughters, Cara and Stevie Shavers; mother, Janice Goff; brothers, Stanley Reed and Jon Goff; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Chris Crutchley officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, South. The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. today, all day on Wednesday and prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements by W. L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home-Fort Oglethorpe.
