Rosie Shackelford

Rosie Lorine Shackelford, 81, of Chattanooga, transitioned Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at Siskin West Hospital. She worked countless years as a LPN and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Letha Ann Shackelford, Sr.; sisters, Willie Mae, Maxie Ruth, Dolleann and Annie Lee; brothers, Lawrence, James, Frank Jr., Robert and Carl. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Herbert and Patricia Shackelford Gray, Chattanooga; god-daughter, Connie Gates of Chattanooga; sisters, Vera (Freddie) Abernathy, Emma Ruth (Willie) Jones, both of Decatur, Ala.; brothers, Bobby (Annie) Shackelford, Towns Creek, Ala.; William (Helen) Shackelford, Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Betty Shackelford, Decatur, Ala.; Elease Shackelford, Hillsboro, Ala.; a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Lansden Sr., officiating. Burial to follow at Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today, the family will receive friends from 7 8 p.m. this evening at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
