Katherine Swaggerty

Katherine Swaggerty, 94, of Ooltewah went home to be with the Lord Monday, Aug. 22, 2016. She was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Birchwood, Tenn., to the late Beecher and Karmna Holland. She was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by four sons, Beecher Holland, Dennis Curtis, Fred Swaggerty, Jr., and Bruce Curtis; three sisters, Virginia Gray, Beatrice Agar, and Christine Crane. Survivors include her daughter, Yvonne (Dale) Johns, of Ooltewah; sister, Julia Davis, of Birchwood; eleven grandchildren, Connie (Owen) Early, of McDonald, Ricky (Lisa) Holland, of Ringgold, Jerry (Kim) Holland, of McDonald, Rhonda Wahl, of Arkansas, Buster Curtis, of Ooltewah, Cissy Joseph, of Arkansas, David (Rebecca) Denton, of Harrison, Chris Denton, of Ooltewah, Bree Curtis, of Cleveland, Zac (Becky) Johns, of Chattanooga, and Charity (Billy) Cross, of Ringgold; her great-grandchildren, Christy, Misty, Mandi, Brandi, Haylie, Ginger, Trey, Hailey, Logan, Alek and several other great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. Friday with Rev. Ronnie Dotson officiating.
