W. Franklin Sweeney

Franklin Sweeney, 61, beloved son of the late John and Gertrude Sweeney of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016. Loving brother of Laura A. Wilson and loving brother in-law of the late H. Wilson. He is also survived by a host of loving family and friends. Mr. Sweeney is a 1977 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with BS in business, and more recently completed a 12-level Spanish language course. He was sole owner of an Atlanta restaurant delivery service, Carry Out Couriers, in the 1990s, but spent most of his life managing multi-screen movie theatres in metro Atlanta communities, Birmingham, and Conyers, Ga. An avid history buff, Mr. Sweeney often traveled internationally. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, from 11 a.m. until noon at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, Ga., where a celebration of life memorial service will begin at noon. A private burial will be held at a later date.
