Shelby Barton

TRENTON — Shelby Jean Barton, 79, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, "Nanny," sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed cooking for her family and anyone who came through her doors daily. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Oscar Barton; parents, George Sanders and Clara Ann Clark; brothers, Buddy Cordell Clark and Bobby Clark. She is survived by her daughter, Kim (David) Bowman; sons, Rickey Barton and Freddie (Tanja) Barton; six grandchildren, David (Charity) Barton, Lauren Barton, Amanda (Mike) Early, Meghan (Aaron) Pittsley, Laronica (Jarrod) Forester, and Jonathan Bowman; three great-grandchildren, Lorelei, Kyler, and Clara; sisters, Joann (Doyle) Stone, Mary Gray; brother, George (Ruth) Clark Jr.; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at noon EST Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Eddie Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held today, noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to noon. Arrangements by Moore Funeral Home, Trenton, Ga.
