Vivian Brockett

CHICKAMAUGA — Vivian Lavon Atkinson Brockett, 82, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016. She was born to the late Homer Charles and Hannah M. Russell Atkinson in Arkansas, lived in Tulare, Calif., before moving to Chickamauga in 1999. She was a member of Battlefield Ministries Community Church and retired as a plumbing contractor and the owner/operator of Jim’s Plumbing Service in 1999 after more than 50 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be greatly missed. Lavon was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim Brockett; daughter, Melissa Panelle and sister, Betty Atkinson. She is survived by her loving daughter, Gina (Mike) Edgeworth; sister, Cheryl (Kris) Williams; grandchildren, Jason (Deborah Howard) Mulanax, Michael (Kim) Edgeworth, Joey (Susan) Edgeworth, Amanda (Mike) Morgan, Josh (Jamie) Panelle, Ashley (Chase Holdbrooks) Panelle, Tyler Panelle and Phillip Soto; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 3, 2016, in the Chickamauga City Cemetery, with Pastor Pete Anderson, II officiating. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home- J. Avery Bryan Chapel.
