Barbara Blair

Barbara Klassen Blair, 70, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at her residence. She was born July, 10, 1945, in Chattanooga and was a graduate of Central High School. Barbara retired from TVA after 22 years of service and served as the Executive Assistant for the Senior Vice President of Nuclear Operations. She was a member of Hickory Valley Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Alexander Whitt and Nelda Belcher Whitt. Survivors include her loving husband of 17 years, Gene Blair; step mother, Agnes Hays Whitt, both of Chattanooga, three children, Kristie (Tony) Abercrombie, Mark (Cindy) Klassen, both of Harrison, Tenn., Kelly (Walt) Nichols, of Ooltewah, Tenn., eight grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; sister, Joyce Ann Baliles, of Chattanooga; three brothers, Raymond Whitt, of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., David Whitt, Kenneth Whitt, both of Chattanooga; several nieces; and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, at Hickory Valley Christian Church, with Rev. Gary Armes officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3 8 p.m., Friday, at the church.
