Russell Hamilton

Russell F. Hamilton, 94, departed this life Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016. He was born in Oak Park, Ill., to the late Woodman and Dorothy Hamilton. Russell served as a bombardier in the US Army Airforce in WWII and later retired as President of Pilcher Hamilton Paper Company after 30-plus years of service there. In Illinois, he was a choir director, sang in the Suburban Veterans Chorus, and was a member of Downers Grove Oratorio Society. Locally, he was a member of Chickamauga Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder emeritus and choir director. Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, Katherine Hamilton of Chickamauga; children, Wendy Wrinn, Margaret Bork, both of Chickamauga, Russell Hamilton of Rossville, Holly DiRosato of Canton; sister, Sally Hayes of Petoskey, Mich.; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Chickamauga Presbyterian Church followed by a memorial service at 3:30 p.m., with Rev. Bridget Waddell officiating.
