Ruth Bason

Ruth Elizabeth Rice Bason, of Soddy-Daisy, went to meet Jesus in the morning of Jan. 25, 2016. Ruth was the daughter of Ada Eunice Simmons Rice and John Thomas Rice. Ruth will meet her husband, Henry Karl Bason; and brothers and sisters, Thomas Isaac Rice, Alvis David Rice, Dewey Hester Rice, Margaret Olive Rice Aldridge and Emily Jane Rice, in Heaven. Ruth has one surviving sister, Bertha Rice Webster. Ruth has 3 sons: Joseph Anderson Terrell (Joy), of Arizona, James Edward Terrell (Susan) of North Carolina, and Harold Mark Terrell (Theresa) of Tennessee. Ruth has four grandchildren: John Joseph Terrell, Jennifer Gail Terrell (Joe), Darren Anderson Terrell and Nathan Mark Terrell (Mark); and three great-grandchildren: Ashley Joy Knox, Robert George Knox, and Brooke Judith Knox (Jennifer). Ruth's grandchildren and great-grandchildren live in Arizona and Tennessee. Ruth was born in Caswell County, N.C. She attended Haw River United Church of Christ and was a member of Hixson First Baptist Church of Hixson. Ruth graduated in 1939 from Pleasant Grove High School. She worked at Randalman Hosiery and owned her own daycare. Family and friends said Good-bye in Graham, N.C., on Jan. 30, 2016, at a beautiful service held at McClure Funeral Services Chapel, and she was laid to rest beside her husband at Longs Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. Services were lead by Pastor James Rosser and Pastor Myron Wilkins, both of North Carolina. Ruth was known for her smile and will be missed by all.
