Eula Rogers

Eula Marie Miller Rogers, 93, of the Tranquility Community, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at NHC Healthcare of Athens. A native and life-long resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late William "Bill" and Anna Bell Hyde Miller, and was preceded in death by her husband, Bennett Rogers, on Aug. 12, 1985; two brothers,Ward Miller, R. L. Miller; and sister, Margaret Aldridge , and great great- grandaughter, Kylie Overton. She was a former employee of Athens Hosiery Mill, having retired after 23 years of service. She was a member of Tranquility United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons; Ronnie (Shirley) Rogers, of Athens Tenn., Jerry David (Sallie)Rogers, of Charleston, Tenn.; and sister-in-law, Jo Nell Miller McPhail Farris, of Athens, Tenn. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Those unable to attend may send condolences to www.laycock-hobbs.com. Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens is in charge of the arrangments. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Friday, in Funeral Home, with Rev. Bruce Vincent officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, in Idlewild Cemetery.
