Sonny White Jr.

James Lenol "Sonny" White Jr., 73, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Feb. 9, 2016, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Sonny was born Oct. 4, 1942 in Chattanooga, to James Lenol and Virginia Ruth Ledord White Sr. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later worked for DuPont until his retirement. Sonny married Kil Cha "Connie" on Jan. 23, 1965, in Korea and the two shared 51 years together. He enjoyed big-game hunting and fishing, watching the History Channel and National Geographic. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Connie; children, James Boyd White, Kim (Mark) Ruth Rhymer; grandchildren, Kathleen Dakota White, Haley McKenna Rhymer and Denver James Rhymer. The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, and 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Monday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m., Monday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
