Cheryl Dupree

Cheryl Faye Dupree, 67, of Ringgold, was given her wings on July 22, 2016, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, after an extended illness. Cheryl entered this life on April 21, 1949, as the only daughter of Jessie Mae and Fajent W. Osa. She lived most of her life in Tennessee, but spent her final years as a resident of Ringgold, Ga. Cheryl lived in service of others and was a proud member of the Elder Abuse Committee, the Catoosa County Library Board and Catoosa Emergency Response Team. She enjoyed dancing, horses and spending time with her much loved granddaughter, Amanda. She facilitated Amandas love for the theatre and even appeared with her in a production of "Its a Wonderful Life". Until her retirement 2015, Cheryl was employed by North Georgia Community Action. She began her career in 1999 as a parent aide and from there advanced to full time community developer. She faithfully served her community and worked many hours of service to the elderly and residents in need. She worked diligently to establish a food pantry for Catoosa County so that none should go hungry. Many times she delivered food to elderly shut-ins who were unable to visit her office. Cheryl was one of those special angels that thought of everyone but herself. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Lester Dupree. She is survived by her children, Andrew Dupree, Jeff Dupree and Kristy Reynolds; grandchildren, Hannah and Amanda; as well as several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her brothers, Jimmy Bowman and Robert (Barbara) Kennedy. There will a memorial service for Cheryl at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Cowboy Church, County Line Road, Ringgold, Ga. "Dear George, Remember no man is a failure who has friends. Thanks for the wings! Love, Clarence" Quote from "Its a Wonderful Life"
