Joann Burns

Joann Knowles Burns, 86, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 26, 2016, at her home. She was born in Tallassee, Ala., and lived most of her life in Montgomery, Ala., before moving to Ringgold in 2001. Joann was a member at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Phillip Duwayne Burns; parents, Willie Homer Knowles and Lurleen Pollard Knowles; and brother, Charles Raymond Knowles. Survivors include children, David (Susie) Burns and Lydia (David) Babb; grandchildren, Anna Burns (Sean) Phillips, Amanda Babb (Adam) Hare, Sarah Elizabeth Burns, Phillip Knowles Burns, and Andrew (Afton) Babb; great-grandchildren, August, Jude and Layla Hare; and sister, Frances Knowles Groves Funeral services will be 7 p.m. today, at the funeral home chapel, with Rev.
