Ernest "Jake" Johnson Jr. Ernest "Jake" Harold Johnson Jr. , 90, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2016. Jake was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. He was a 50 year member with Free Masons Red Bank Lodge. Jake served with the United States Navy, from Dec. 7, 1944 to April 16, 1946. He worked for EI DuPont Nemours as an Electric Heat Operator. Jake was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel C. Johnson; mother, Clara Mae Edge; and father, Ernest H. Johnson, Sr. Jake is survived by his sons, Steven Dewayne Johnson and Roger Alan Johnson, both of Chattanooga; two granddaughters, Cassandra Diane Johnson, of Chattanooga and Vanessa Nichole Johnson, of Chattsworth, Ga.; two great-granddaughters, Claire and Sadie; two sisters, Gaynell Brogden, of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Julia Wilson, of Centre, Ala. The family will receive friends, from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, in the funeral home chapel.
