Mitchell Standifer

David Mitchell Standifer, 56, passed away Tuesday morning, May 24, 2016, at Memorial North Park Hospital. Mitchell was born on Oct. 27, 1959 in Chattanooga to the late Billy Mac and Betty Irene (Webb) Standifer and was also preceded in death by his sister, Vickie Lynn Williamson. Mitchell lived on Sale Creek Mountain all of his life and was a graduate of Sale Creek High School and had attended Chattanooga State Community College. Mitchell retired from TVA in 2013, after 36 years as Project Manager. He enjoyed his visits to Punta Gorda, Fla., and attended The Rock Metropolitan Church in Chattanooga. He is survived by his husband, Bernard "Bern" Langley, of Sale Creek Mountain; his sister, Mitzi Standifer, of Sale Creek Mountain, several cousins and aunts. Funeral services for Mitchell will be held Thursday evening, at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be Friday, at 11 a.m. at Standifer Family Cemetery on Sale Creek Mountain.
