Joseph Joe Jones

Joseph "Joe" Jones Joseph "Joe" Levan Jones, 65, of Chattanooga, transcended peacefully, to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, May 24, 2016, in a local hospital. Joseph was born in Chattanooga, on May 5, 1951. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrie Bell Jones and William C. Freeman; three brothers, Ernest Thaxton, William Freeman and Eddie Jones; sister, Mildred Smith. He leaves to forever cherish his memory his siblings, Emma Patton, Faye (Eugene) Norman, of Chattanooga; Goldie Thomas, of Denver, Colo.; Hershel (Edith) Garrett, of Chester, Pa.; John Lewis, Bobby (Janice) Jones, James Jones, and Alfonzo Jones, of Chattanooga; devoted nephew, Antwan Thomas; aunt, Lillie Sturdivant; spiritual father, Bishop James Scott; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, May 28, 2016, at New Holy Temple Cathedral Church of God in Christ, located at 2311 Bliss Avenue. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today, the family will receive friends this evening, from 6 to 7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
