Gertrude Bauroth

SPRING CITY — Gertrude L. “Trudy” Bauroth, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, at the Golden Years Retirement Resort in Spring City. Angels lifted her to heaven to finally be home. Born in Toledo, Ohio, Trudy was the daughter of the late Emil and Lydia Recknegal Steiner. She and her husband, Fritz, ran Millbury Engineering in Northwood, Ohio for 27 years. They retired to Hudson, Fla., where Trudy fished every day and played cards. Trudy moved to Spring City in 2004, close to her daughter, Cindi DuBrian. She was very active at the Lighthouse Senior Center, and especially loved the Gospel singing. Her friends in “500” card group were greatly appreciated. Trudy was always ready to play – she loved to win! Crossword puzzles, thrift stores and lunches out were some of her favorite things. Everyone will remember Trudy for her kindness, consideration, generosity and incredible strength. She cared deeply for her family and the light of her life was her granddaughter, Michelle. Trudy will be missed so much, but her long struggle is now over. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Alfred “Fritz” Bauroth; sister, Ester Reifert and brother, Bob Steiner. Trudy is survived by her daughter, Cindi (Jack) DuBrian, of Spring City; son, Bill (Susan) Bauroth, of Northwood, Oh.; sister, Helen Hahn, of Gainesville, Fla., granddaughter, Michelle Cash, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and seven nieces and nephews. Her family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice, caregivers and special friends, Pat Bergen and Sue Hanna. There will be no visitation or services. Trudy’s family request that memorial contributions in her memory be made to a charity of your choice. Vaughn Funeral Home, Spring City is in charge of arrangements. Please share your condolences and memories of Trudy on our website www.vaughn-funeral- home.com.
