Eddie Wilhoite

Don Edward Wilhoite Jr., 68, lifelong resident of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, in a local health care facility. Eddie worked for several years in the physical therapy department at Siskin and at Barton Security for several years. He was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Edward Wilhoite Sr. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran for four years, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was called into duty during Desert Storm where he served with the Army Reserve. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve for 13 years. Surviving are his mother, Dorothy Mae Wilhoite; and sister, Sharon Lee Wilhoite, of Chattanooga; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends will gather at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at Chattanooga National Cemetery, for graveside services with Rev. Mike McGinnis officiating. Pallbearers will be Dorman Knowles, Bobby Parker, Kenny Wilhoit, Mike Davis, Wayne Brogan, and Mike Wilhoit. The Air Force Reserve will provide military services. There will not be any visitation at the funeral home. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Life Care of Collegedale and Amedysis Hospice for their support.
