Hazel Sedman

Hazel Marie Sedman,92, passed away peacefully on Monday morning. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Fisher Sedman; and her sister, Nellie Jean Sedman. She was a longtime member of White Oak United Methodist Church in Red Bank and was retired from Provident. Hazel was a loving, sweet, and giving lady with a great sense of humor. She was an optimist and a great friend and encouragement to many. Hazel and her sister, Nell, were avid travelers and took numerous bus tours and trips covering most of the states and loved to talk about those adventures. She spent many of her days knitting and crocheting blankets to donate to The Samaritan Center. She also enjoyed painting and needlework, and loved working jigsaw puzzles. Hazel will be greatly missed by her church family and other close friends, as well as her wonderful caregivers at Summit View, where she had resided for over 13 years. Visitation will be at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson, Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, from noon to 2 p.m., followed by funeral services in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of any flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White Oak United Methodist Church in her name. A special thanks to Ivan and Caring Senior Services, as well as Erlanger staff, for their help and their compassionate care in her last days. Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel. Please share condolences at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com.
