Bess King

Bess W. King, of Hixson, died on Oct. 21, 2016. She was born on July 21, 1929, in Spring Lake, N.J., to the late Lucille and Ott Walker, Jr. Bess and her husband, the late Frank K. King, were married for 50 years. As an award winning quilt maker and story teller, Bess will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Survivors include sisters, Margaret (Fran-d.) Schantz and Mary (Jim) Bush; children, Mary (Keith) Coe, Frank (Phoebe) King Jr., Jeffrey (Angela) King; grandchildren, Laurie (Aaron) Collier, Bryan Coe, Joshua King, Christopher King; great-grandchildren, Liam, Sam and May Collier, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside service was held on Oct. 24, 2016, with interment in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Rev. Dr. Dennis Flaughter and Rev. Terry Lowe officiated.
