Eugene McCulley

CLEVELAND — Eugene Thomas McCulley, 85, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, in a local healthcare facility. He had lived in the Cleveland area most of his life and was a member of Bowman Hills Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He was a retiree of the Ford Motor Company. In his younger years, he loved flying his plane over the family farm. He was always a giver and helped those in need. He loved to sing and play his guitar with his gospel group. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lillie Ballard McCulley; one sister, Dorothy McCulley Higgins; one brother, Jimmy McCulley; and former wife, Betty McCulley. He is survived by his wife, Ruby McCulley, of Cleveland; children, Cathy McCulley Westfall and husband Tom, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and David Shane McCulley and wife Suzanne, of Louisville, Ky.; step-children, Linda Dashiell, of Nashville, Tenn., and Rosa Lee Botts and husband, Jimmy, of Cleveland; grandchildren, Amanda Westfall Mann and husband Cameron, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Brent Westfall and wife Amber, of Tahlequah, Okla., and Caitlyn Westfall. of Ann Arbor, Mich.; step-grandchildren Sonya Burroughs. of Nashville, Tenn., Barry Botts and wife Marlene, of San Diego, Calif., and Kevin Botts and wife Lyndsay, of Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Shirley McCulley Bailey, of Easley, S.C.; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Swafford Cemetery in Georgetown, Tenn., with Jimmy Botts, Barry Botts, Kevin Botts, Brandon Botts, and Brandon Eaves serving as pallbearers. The family will received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at the funeral home.
