June James

June Leach James, 91, of Hixson, Tenn., died on Sept. 8, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack E. James; parents, Harrison and Pearl Leach; her son, Scott James; her sister, Jewell Winstead, of Alabama and her brothers, Bill and Ralph Leach. June was born in Speedwell in Aug. of 1925. She graduated from La Follette High School in 1943. She married Jack in 1945, after working at Oak Ridge. They moved to Rochester, NY, where they raised their family. She moved to Speedwell in 1981, where she lived until 2003. June attended Well Springs United Methodist Church and enjoyed her family and friends. She loved playing Bridge, Bible Study, gardening, chocolate candy, and hummingbirds. She is survived by her children, Jill Sarisky, of Durham, N.C., Ron James, of Indian Trail, N.C., Nancy (James) Miller, of Hixson, Jeff James, of Bartlett, Ill.; her grandchildren, Shan Alphin, of Lymington, UK, Roz Brown, of Indian Trail, N.C., Darren Sarisky, of Oxford, UK, Kristin Ford, of Signal Mountain, Tenn., Dan Sarisky, of Cary, N.C., and Trevor James, of Victor, NY; 12 great-grandchildren; her brother, JB Leach, and sisters, Evelyn Bailey, Margie Ford, of La Follette/Speedwell. A funeral service will be held at the Martin Wilson Funeral Home in La Follette, TN at 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, 2016. Burial will follow at the Leach Cemetery in Flat Hollow.
