Larry "Matthew" Mooney RINGGOLD Larry "Matthew" Mooney, 33, passed away Tuesday Sept. 27, 2016. A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area and attended Liberty Baptist Church. Matt was a 2001 graduate of Ringgold High School. He was also 20 year Tae Kwon Do student of Rick Hall and achieved a 4th Degree Black Belt. He loved his children, was a hard worker and had a big heart. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Edna Mooney and Joe Young. He is survived by his fianc, Brooke Jones Smith; parents, Larry and Carolyn Mooney, all of Ringgold, Ga.; children, Damien, Stryker, and Slade Mooney; step daughter, Skylar Smith; sister, Brandy (James) Leonard, of Ringgold, Ga.; grandmother, Tossie Young of Rock Spring; aunt, Debbie Griffith, of Hixson; nieces; Cheyanne Kunkle and Jordan Leonard. Funeral services will be held 7p.m. today, in the Chapel, with Pastor Ryan Ralston. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
