Lorraine "Gray" Carter Yearwood, 92, passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016. She is survived by her children, Frank (Dru) Carter, of Athens, Ga., Dan (Gerts) Carter, of Ellijay, Ga., and Laura Carter, of Hilton Head, S.C.; grandchildren, Stephanie Carter Meyer, of Jefferson, Ga., Krissie Carter Robinson (Jeremy), of Flowery Branch, Ga., Nicholas Carter, of Athens, Ga., Jesse Carter, of Nashville, and Anita Carter, of Boston, Mass. She also has five great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Jackson, and Delaney Meyer, of Jefferson, Ga., and Ansley and Carter Robinson, of Flowery Branch, Ga. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Bertie Gray, of Old Hickory; siblings, Frank Gray, Joe Gray, and Jane Gray Hudson; and husbands, J. Howard Carter and Aubrey Yearwood. The family will have a private celebration of her life at a later date. The family would like to especially thank the staff at High Shoals Health and Rehab in High Shoals, Ga., for their loving care and attention for the past nine years.
