Annie (Ann) Pearl (Morris) Stuermer, 93, was called home to her Heavenly Father, on Wednesday evening, April 19, 2017, following lengthy age-related illnesses. Ann was born on Dec. 28, 1923, daughter of Alma (Stanton) Morris and Idus W. Morris. She attended Toccoa Falls College where she met her husband, Rev. Harris A. Stuermer, and served with him in pastorates in Macomb, Ill., Waupaca, Wisc., and Danville, Ill., until his retirement in 1991. After retiring, she moved to Chattanooga, Tenn., to be near family. Harris and Ann joined the family of Grace Baptist Church. Ann was preceded in death by her husband Dec. 13, 2016, parents and her six siblings. Surviving are her children, Ruth (Wayne) Fredrick, of Hilton Head, S.C., Wendee Baker, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Harris (Sandra) Stuermer Jr., of Anchorage, AK, John (Sandra) Stuermer, of Lookout Mountain, and Paul (Sabra) Stuermer, of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Dr. Chett (April) Nelson, of Goshen, Ind., Stephanie Nelson, of Chattanooga, Daniel (Brooke) Baker, of Chattanooga, Jordan Stuermer, of Chattanooga, Max Stuermer, of Smyrna, Ga., Jessica (Shane) Bales, of Apison, Tenn., Greta Stuermer, of Anchorage, AK; grandchildren, Legend Heard, of Nappanee, Ind., Julia Nelson, Jenna Nelson, and Jaedyn Nelson, of Goshen, Ind., Joseph Stuermer, of Anchorage, AK, Jude Baker and Adelaide Baker, of Chattanooga, and Oliver Bales and Hugo Bales, of Apison, Tenn. We know there is rejoicing in heaven today. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, April 23, at 3 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Chattanooga. The family will receive friends at Grace Baptist Church from 2 to 3 p.m. Private burial will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse and Gideon Bibles. Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga.
