Cynthia Rowland Grant, 60, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017, in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 16, 1956, in Knoxville, Tenn. Cindy was a 1975 graduate of Cleveland High School and received her Nursing Degree from St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She was a member of First Centenary United Methodist Church and was employed with Women’s East for many years. Her mother, Marilyn Free preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Jim Grant Jr.; two sons, Tripp (Amanda) Grant and Chris (Missy) Grant; three grandsons, Dru Grant, Ethan Michael Grant, and Kelon Grissom, all of Chattanooga; two brothers, Richard (Kristi) Free, of Knoxville and Bobby (Beverly) Rowland, of Atlanta; one sister, Mary Alice Free, of Cleveland; father, Tom Rowland, of Cleveland; mother-in-law, Charlie Grant, of East Ridge; brother-in-law, Chuck (Denise) Grant, of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, April 24, 2017, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. in the East Chapel with Pastor Ray Williams and Pastor Will Lauderback officiating. Private interment will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
