Thurman Johnson

Thurman "TJ" Johnson, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017. He served his country in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. "TJ" was a 1970 graduate of Howard High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest (Myrtle) Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife, Vicky Johnson; children, LaToya Wellon and Thurman (Kita) Wellon, sisters, Cynthia Jackson, Nashville, Tenn., Karen Johnson; four grandchildren; several uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 23, 2017, at New Hope Baptist Church, 3777 Wilcox Blvd., Pastor Wayne Johnson officiating. Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery on Monday, April 24, at 12:30 p.m. The body will lie-in-state today, April 22, 2017, after noon and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at John P Franklin Funeral Home 1101 Dodds, 423-622-9995.
