Ira O'Neal

CHICKAMAUGA — Ira Lee “Porky” O’Neal, 48, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017. He was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., and had been a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga – Northwest Georgia area. He was an employee with Class Five Canoes in Ringgold, Ga. He enjoyed fishing and loved classic cars. He attended Lookout Baptist Church in High Point, Ga. He was preceded in death by his father, William Franklin O’Neal Jr.; brothers, Lucas Dewayne and Christopher Robert O’Neal. He is survived by his mother, Betty Lois Moore O’Neal, of Chickamauga, Ga.; son, Lee Medley, of Ringgold, Ga.; and his mother, Hazel O’Neal-Broyles, of Rossville, Ga.; sisters, Lori Williams, Dina Gilliam, Emily O’Neal and brother, Rev. William “Bill” Eugene O’Neal Sr., all of Chickamauga, Ga.; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 1 to 5 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2017, in the chapel with Rev. Terry Burns officiating. Burial will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park – Rossville, Ga.
