Marietta, as she signed her named, was an artist, and her works are valued by all who are lucky enough to possess her paintings. She was a mother first and valued family above all else. She never said a bad thing about anyone and was an inspiration for all who knew her. In the late 1960s she and the late Frances Jackson of Nashville, embarked on an adventure that forever changed the landscape of Green Hills by opening the Woman’s Craft Exchange on Bandywood Drive. They were the original entrepreneurs. The Clark’s were White County, Tenn., natives; lifelong members of the Church of Christ; and lived in Sparta, Nashville and Fairfield Glade, Tenn., and Winter Park, Fla. A graveside service will be held in Sparta, Tenn., at the Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery on Sunday, May 7, at 2 p.m.
