Melvin Case

BRIDGEPORT — Ernest Melvin Case, 81, died Saturday, April 22, 2017. The son of the late Eston Lee and Myrtie Lee Elkins Case he was an Army veteran and a member of the Baptist Church and a member of Operating Engineers Local Union #320. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Katie Coffelt Case; a grandson, Brandon Bennett; and brother, Eston Case Jr. He is survived by his children, Donna (Raymond) Bennett, of Jasper, Tenn., and Allan (Cheryl) Case, of Kimball, Tenn.; grandchildren, Brian, Kevin and Jared Bennett; brothers, Jim Case, of Birmingham, Ala., Paul Case and Tim Case, both of Stevenson, Ala., Carl Case, Jerry Don Case, and Charles Case, all of Bridgeport, Ala., Larry Case, of South Pittsburg, Tenn.; sisters, Inez Peterson and Betty Register, both of Tallahassee, Fla., and Martha Hughes, of South Pittsburg, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Monday April 24, at noon with Rev. Ronnie Case officiating. Interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery in Bridgeport, Ala. Visitation will be today, April 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. CT at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home.
