Jemima Shirley

RINGGOLD — Jemima Mae Reed Shirley, 97, passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, at her residence. A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, she was a founding member of the Catoosa County Historical Society and was a member of the Boynton United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Griffin Shirley Jr.; son, Alan Phillip Shirley; and parents, Judson and Mae Belle Stroup Reed. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Griff and Dawn Shirley, of Ringgold, Ga.; grandson, Alan Griffin Shirley; caretaker and friend, Carolyn Tinsley; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Dailey Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel Ringgold, Georgia.
