ROSALIE — Lorene Barrentine Benefield, 85, of Rosalie died Sunday, Dec. 10 at Highland's Health Care. Funeral services are Wednesday at 1 p.m. CT at Corner Stone Funeral chapel with the Bro. Bill Bass and the Bro. Eugene Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. until service time on Wednesday. Survivors include daughters, Janet and Felix Tidwell, Sheila and Mike Brown, Kathy and Johnny Cartagena, Regina and Eugene Crawford; grandchildren, Michele Fleming(Steve), Alana Smith(Aaron), Renea Sisco(William), Danielle Prestley(Tim), Lindsey Herrand(Jorge), Philip Tidwell(Emily), Whitney Baker(Landon), Brooke Crawford; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Kennedy, Monterey Shultz, Bennie Gant(Cecil), Martha Poole(Varnell). Mrs Benefield was a member of Free Hill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Annie Sophronia Shrader Barrentine; husband, J L Benefield; sister, Janice Thurmond; brothers, J L, Carlton, Diaz, Bob and Hugh Earlene Barrentine; grandchildren, Jeremy Smothers and Jessica Fleming.
