Beverly Laney

Mrs. Beverly Wright Laney, 68, of Ooltewah, Tenn., passed away on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn. She was born on Dec. 13, 1948, in Langdale, Ala., to the late Graham Wright and Ruby Anthony Wright. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Tony Wright, and Nick Wright. Mrs. Laney was a member of the Ringgold United Methodist Church in Ringgold, Ga. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from Auburn University. After graduation, she went on to teach special education for 27 years touching the lives of hundreds of students during her career. She loved her pets and enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her husband, Jim R. Laney, Ooltewah, Tenn; sister-in-law, Yvonne Wright, Huguley, Alabama; mother-in-law, Chella Laney; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at 11 a.m. EST at the Langdale United Methodist Church with interment following in Johnson Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Paul Messer officiating the services. The family will be receiving friends at the church on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. EST until 11 a.m. EST. A memorial service will also be held on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at 1 p.m. EST at the Ringgold United Methodist Church in Ringgold, Ga.
