Clela Wingo

Mrs. Clela Bain Wingo, born Sept. 12, 1922, died Dec. 12, 2017, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center at the age of 95. She was born in Walling, Tenn., to John K. Bain and Maebelle Jared Bain. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 73 years, William Ervin Wingo, of Walling, Tenn.; one grandson, James William Wingo, of Chattanooga, Tenn. three brothers, Benton, JK Bain Jr., David Bain, all of Walling, Tenn; one sister, Ruth Bain Goodwin and her husband Taylor Goodwin, of Chattanooga, TN. Survived by one son, Jimmy Melmoth Wingo and wife Trish Miller Wingo, of Chattanooga; two brothers, Quentin and Nadine Bain, William (John) and Reba Bain, of Walling; one sister, Mary Roberson, of Chattanooga; two brothers-in-law, Aaron Wingo and Glover Wingo, of Chattanooga. She belonged to Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church Walling, TN. She was involved in The Eastern Stars both in Chattanooga and Sparta, and was a past worthy matron of the OES North Chattanooga Chapter and Sparta 440. She belonged to the Stitch Share and Show Quilt Club of Sparta, TN. She worked as a professional dining room server for 40 years for The Southern Restaurant, The Dinner Party and The Holiday Inn. Miss Wingo loved to quilt, oil paintings and ceramics in which she won several 1st prizes on. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. CST. Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. CST. at Hunter Funeral Home. Marvin Saylors will officiate. Larry Lindsley, Dallas Scherer, Charles Goodwin, Brandon Bain, Noah Sullivan and Caleb Fuson will serve as pallbearers.
