Robert McCurdy

VALLEY HEAD — Robert Durham "Bobby" McCurdy, 70, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at his residence. Funeral services are Friday at 1 p.m. at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro Steve Lea and Bro Shaunathan Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Home Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until service time on Friday. Survivors include wife of 49 years, Martha Blevins McCurdy; sons, Brian McCurdy, Bruce McCurdy (Jennifer); grandchildren, Macie, Reese and Sam McCurdy; mother, Alice Durham McCurdy; sister, Hazel Haynes (Larry); brother, Ronald "Lum" McCurdy; nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. McCurdy was a 1966 graduate of Ider High School, served in the U.S. Marines, was a member and Deacon of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, was retired from Combustion Engineering and helped with recruiting industry to DeKalb County. He was preceded in death by his father, Mack McCurdy; brothers, Billy McCurdy and Eugene "Fatso" McCurdy.
