Billy Chestnut

Billy J. Chesnut, 84, of Hixson, passed away at his residence on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017. Billy was born in Gadsden, Ala., on June 17, 1932. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from Dupont. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, William D. and Louvenia (Stowe) Chesnut. Survivors include his wife, Christine A. Chesnut; daughters, Diane Griffin and Renee Shadden (Eric) and grandson, Adam Griffin (Sandee), all of Hixson; and sister, Patsy Reagan, of Birmingham, Ala. The family will receive friends today, Feb. 19, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 1:30 p.m. with interment to follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
