Dorotha Dunkle

ETOWAH — Dorotha “Dot” Mae Rogers Dunkle, 87, was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Etowah Health Care Center. Dot was a member of Etowah First Baptist Church since 1954. She enjoyed life immensely, loved her family and liked to spend time tending to her violets. Preceded in death by husband, Henry E. Dunkle; parents, Harvey and Mary Rogers; brothers, Claude Rogers, Elmer Rogers; sisters, Ruby Jarnigan, Roxie Rogers; son-in-law, Leonard Barger; infant great-grandson, Evan Boring; “special family," Barbara, C.B., Gary Higdon. Survivors include children, Steve and Joellen Dunkle, Stanley and Jayne Dunkle, Mary Jane Barger, Charlie and Danette Reeves; grandchildren, Tim and Angie Croft, Colby and Kim Dunkle, Bryan and Cheryl Dunkle, Bo and Michele Dunkle, Johnny and Jennifer Gilreath, Alicia Anthony, April Reeves, Jeff and Jill Constance, Timothy and Anna Reeves; great-grandchildren, Dalton Croft, Jake Croft, Gavin Dunkle, Wesley Dunkle, Bradley Dunkle, Gabbi Dunkle, Libbi Dunkle, Phoebi Dunkle, Casia Gunner, T.J. Gunner, Lucas Gunner, Toby Gunner, Alyssa Anthony, Adia Anthony, Tyler Constance, Trevor Constance, Trent Constance, Katie Grace Constance; special family, Gail Higdon, Eric and Courtney Cline. The family would like to express thanks to the staff of EHCC for the loving care and devotion they showed Dot. Dot was the life of the party at EHCC and she enjoyed participating in the activities on a daily basis, therefore in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be given to Etowah Health Care Center, Attn: Activities Department, 409 Old Grady Road, Etowah, Tenn., 37331, in memory of Dot Dunkle, or to your favorite charity. Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at Etowah First Baptist Church with Pastor Bryan Dunkle and Pastor Bo Dunkle officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at Green Hill Cemetery for the committal service. Bordwine Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
