Doris Forrest

FRANKLIN — Doris Ruth Forrest, 90, passed away Feb. 21, 2017. Born and raised in Chattanooga, Tenn., she attended Central High School, where she was captain of the Girls’ Rifle Batallion, played softball and was named May Queen in 1945. Later married and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by husband of 68 years, James L. Forrest; parents, Clarrice and Norine Bass; brother, Bill Bass and sister, Mary Alice Campbell. Survived by daughter, Linda Carol (Robert) Trotter; grandchildren, Heather and Justin Trotter, all of Franklin, Tenn.; sister, Willodean Moore, of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; and other loving family members. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
