Raymond Ells

FORT OGLETHORPE — Raymond Dennis Ells, 56, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017. He was of the Baptist faith. Raymond was a loving father as well as an amazing singer-songwriter and storyteller. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and loved his long career as a truck driver. He loved life and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Ann Ells. Raymond is survived by his daughter, Hannah Ells; wife, Wendi Ells, both of Fort Oglethorpe; father, Kenneth Ells; sisters and brothers, Kim Ells, Clifford (Vickie) Ells, Beth (Paul) Burket, Alberta George, Mark Ells, all of Greenville, S.C., Mary (Chuck) Yates, of Simpsonville, S.C.; special friend, Marlene Wasness, of Boiling Spring; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, in the chapel. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
