Sammie Odum

Sammie Ruth Odum, 94, passed away July 11, 2017. She was a member of Pierce Avenue Baptist Church for more than 50 years and was a member of the usher board and loved going to church until her health declined. Ruth was well liked in her neighborhood for 71 years. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mamie Odum; sons, Billy Odum and Albert Baker; grandson, Michael Hampton; brothers, Clarence Odum Jr., Thomas Odum, Ulysses Odum, Willie Odum, Felton Odum. She is survived by daughters, Mary (Hampton) Leatherwood, Diannel (Odum) Baker; granddaughters, Feltonia Renee Hampton, Ugenia Nelson; grandson, Darrell Jerome Williams; great-grandsons, Michael Moore, Donta Hampton, Kevin Williams, Marcus Ash, Michael Mailk Hampton; friends, Effie Jones, Doris Cole, Jackie Odum; a host of nieces and nephews.
